Why it matters
The Sort-A-Rama event is a critical fundraiser and volunteer drive for the Food Bank of the Albemarle, which has seen increased demand for its services due to cuts in national food assistance programs. The details
During the 45-minute competition, teams will bag up fresh produce to be distributed throughout the Food Bank's network of 100 hunger relief partner agencies and mobile food pantries. A suggested donation of $20 per team member helps to offset the cost of the food being packed and provide additional meals. This year's event is expected to have over 20 teams participating, including groups from Food Lion, ECU Health, and Hall Automotive.
