Sidney Public Schools Announces Superintendent Finalists

The Board of Trustees for Sidney Public Schools has announced the four finalists for the position of District Superintendent, and the community is invited to meet the candidates at meet-and-greets that will be held on March 25 and 26.

The details
The meet-and-greets will take place from 4:30-5:30 p.m. at the Sidney High School library. The four finalists include Thom Barnhart, the current curriculum director of Sidney Public Schools; Timothy Tharp, the Richland County Superintendent of Schools; Doug Pfau, the superintendent of the Broadview School District; and Dan Schmidt, the Superintendent of Niobrara County School District.
- The meet-and-greets will be held on Wednesday, March 25 and Thursday, March 26.
- Interviews with the finalists will also take place on March 25 and 26.
The players
Thom Barnhart
The current curriculum director of Sidney Public Schools, with 13 years in that role and 17 years previously as the Sidney High School guidance counselor. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education, a Master's Degree in School Counseling and Career Guidance, and a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership.
Timothy Tharp
The Richland County Superintendent of Schools for the past three years, and previously the half-time Superintendent of Schools for the Golva Elementary School in Golva, ND for two years. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Math and History Education, a Master's Degree from Montana State University, and a Master's Degree in Business and an Ed.D. in Education Leadership from the University of Montana.
Doug Pfau
The superintendent of the Broadview School District for the past two years, and previously the Assistant Superintendent at Nome Public Schools in Nome, AK. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Math and English, and a Master's Degree in Education from Montana State University.
Dan Schmidt
The Superintendent of Niobrara County School District in Lusk, WY for the past two years, and previously the Superintendent of the Poplar School District in Poplar, MT for six years. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education and a Master's Degree in Education from Montana State University.
