The City of Havre, in partnership with the Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) and Hill County, is developing a Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Safety Action Plan to improve transportation safety and accessibility in the greater Havre area. Community members are invited to review the findings and provide feedback at an upcoming public meeting on March 12.
Why it matters
The Safe Streets Plan aims to identify high-risk areas and develop projects, programs, and strategies to prevent roadway fatalities and serious injuries in Havre. This community-driven process will help secure funding for safety improvements along key corridors.
The details
The public meeting will feature a presentation on the project team's findings, including the identification of three priority corridors. Attendees will have the opportunity to provide feedback and share their experiences through a question-and-answer session and small group discussions. Residents are also encouraged to fill out the Havre Safety Survey to highlight safety issues when traveling in the area.
- The public meeting will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM.
- The Safe Streets Action Plan is expected to be completed by late 2026.
