Intermountain Health has completed renovations to its diabetes and endocrinology clinic in Billings, Montana, expanding the facility with more exam rooms, education spaces, and an upgraded exercise room. The project was funded through donations from local philanthropists Steve and Debbie Reger and Tom and Maree Ryan, who the clinic is now named after.

Why it matters

The renovations come as Montana, like much of the country, is seeing increases in both type 1 and type 2 diabetes cases. Expanding the clinic's capacity will allow Intermountain Health to serve more patients in need of specialized diabetes and endocrinology care.

The details

The renovations included expanding the conference room, remodeling the exercise room, adding several new education rooms, and increasing the number of exam rooms from 19 to 31. The hospital also lowered examination tables for improved patient accessibility. Intermountain Health diabetologist Dr. Justen Rudolph said the hospital could hire up to five new healthcare providers to staff the expanded center.

  • The ribbon cutting ceremony for the renovated clinic took place on Tuesday, April 8, 2026.
  • Intermountain Health has seen rising demand for diabetes and endocrinology care across Montana in recent years.
