Bentley has unveiled the Bentayga X Concept, a modified version of its luxury SUV designed for off-road and winter driving capabilities. The concept features increased ground clearance, wider track, and larger all-terrain tires to tackle rugged terrain. Bentley says the Bentayga X is part of an effort to "stimulate and gain feedback for an enhanced off-road capable Bentayga" model.

Why it matters

The Bentayga X Concept reflects a broader industry trend of luxury automakers investing in more capable off-road and overlanding-focused models to cater to consumer demand. This concept also highlights Bentley's interest in expanding the Bentayga's capabilities beyond its traditional luxury on-road focus.

The details

The Bentayga X Concept starts with a Bentayga Speed model and adds several off-road upgrades. Bentley increased the track width by 120mm and ride height by 55mm to maximize suspension travel and ground clearance. The wheel arches were also widened by 40mm to accommodate larger 22-inch forged wheels. Bentley says the Bentayga X has over 12 inches of ground clearance and can wade through 21.6 inches of water. Visually, the concept features a motorsport-inspired sticker package, roof-mounted storage, and four spotlights to complete the overlanding look.
