The Ole Miss baseball team will have seven of its 30 Southeastern Conference games aired on national television during the 2026 season, the school announced on Tuesday. All seven games will be broadcast on the SEC Network, giving the Rebels less than a third of their SEC slate on traditional TV compared to other conference teams.
Why it matters
Increased national television exposure is crucial for a college baseball program to raise its profile, attract top recruits, and potentially boost ticket sales and fan engagement. While the Rebels are coming off a successful 2025 season that saw them return to the NCAA Tournament, the limited national TV coverage could impact their ability to build on that momentum.
The details
The seven Ole Miss games set for SEC Network broadcasts are: March 19 vs. Kentucky, March 29 vs. Mississippi State, April 4 at Florida, April 25 vs. Georgia, May 3 at Arkansas, May 10 vs. Texas A&M, and May 12 vs. UT Martin. There are five open dates on the SEC television schedule, so Ole Miss could potentially add more national TV appearances once conference play begins on March 13.
- The 2026 baseball season begins in 10 days on February 13.
- Ole Miss opens its SEC slate with a weekend series at Texas on March 13.
The players
Hunter Elliott
Ole Miss pitcher who was named Baseball America's preseason pick for SEC Pitcher of the Year.
Mike Clement
Ole Miss hitting coach who believes the Rebels' pitching staff will have the highest ceiling this season.
What they’re saying
“I think the arms are the guy who are going to have a chance to have the highest ceiling from a transfer standpoint.”
— Mike Clement, Ole Miss hitting coach (Ole Miss Spirit)
What’s next
The Rebels open the season against Nevada at 4 p.m. CT on February 13 and begin SEC play at Texas the following month.
The takeaway
While the limited national TV exposure could hinder Ole Miss' ability to build on its 2025 NCAA Tournament appearance, the Rebels are optimistic about their pitching staff and the potential to add more televised games as the season progresses.
