Lynley McCarley and Nate Cornelison recognized for standout performances

Saltillo High School's Lynley McCarley and Tupelo Christian's Nate Cornelison have been named Daily Journal Athletes of the Week. McCarley, the goalkeeper for Saltillo's soccer team, recorded a shutout in the team's 2-0 win over Long Beach in the Class 6A state championship game. She was named MVP of the game. Cornelison, a player for Tupelo Christian, was also recognized for his achievements.
