The Kansas baseball team improved to 18-10 on the season after taking two of three from No. 25 Cincinnati over the weekend. Kansas has yet to crack the Top 25 this year, but that might change this week after their series win against the ranked Bearcats.
Why it matters
Kansas' offense is as good as any in college baseball, manufacturing runs in various ways, and their pitching staff has finally turned the corner, with starter Mathis Nayral making a strong case for Big 12 Pitcher of the Week honors.
The details
In the series, Kansas won the final two games after dropping the opener. Nayral went seven innings, allowed just one run on three hits, and struck out a season-high 11 batters in the Saturday win. The Jayhawks also continued their efficient base-stealing, going 3-for-3 in stolen base attempts and an impressive 25-for-26 on the season.
