Farm Rescue, a nonprofit organization that provides operational support to farm and ranch families facing unexpected hardship, is expanding its services into Missouri. The organization will begin offering assistance with harvesting in fall 2026, followed by planting, haying, commodity hauling and livestock feeding support. All services are provided at no cost to qualified families.
Why it matters
Family farms and ranches are the backbone of rural communities, but unexpected challenges like illness, injury or natural disasters can threaten their ability to keep operations running. Farm Rescue's expansion into Missouri will provide a critical safety net for the state's diverse agricultural landscape, helping ensure farm families can weather difficult times and keep their operations viable.
The details
Farm Rescue was founded in 2005 and has assisted over 1,250 farm and ranch families across 11 states. The organization deploys experienced volunteers and modern equipment to complete essential, time-sensitive tasks like planting and harvesting. Volunteers work directly with each farm family to follow their specific management practices, allowing families to focus on recovery without placing additional strain on neighbors or local communities.
