The Higginsville Board of Aldermen has approved a Memorandum of Understanding with the City of Odessa to create a Multi-jurisdictional Law Enforcement Quick Response Team. The team will be used to rapidly respond to immediate threats in the Higginsville and Odessa areas. Joint training will be required prior to the operation of the team.

The new quick response team is intended to improve public safety and emergency response capabilities in the two neighboring communities. By pooling resources and personnel, Higginsville and Odessa can better prepare for and react to critical incidents.
The details
The Higginsville Board of Aldermen approved the Memorandum of Understanding during its February 17th meeting. City Administrator Jeanette Dobson says the team will be used to rapidly respond to immediate threats in the Higginsville and Odessa areas. The board also approved an ordinance lowering the speed limit in the southern portion of the city and adding stop signs at 36th and 37th Streets.
