The Willmar track and field team competed in the Central Lakes Conference Indoor Meet on Tuesday, with the girls finishing seventh and the boys ninth. The Cardinals had a pair of individual event winners, as senior Mallory Beier won the girls' long jump and junior Zach Engstrom claimed the boys' 3,200-meter run. The Willmar girls also had several other top-five finishes.

Beier's winning long jump of 15 feet, 10 inches put her two inches ahead of Alexandria's Kira Johnson. Engstrom crossed the finish line of the 3,200-meter run in 10 minutes, 29.78 seconds, beating out Alexandria's Kyle Jahner. The Willmar girls also had top-five finishes from junior Allison Mages in the 3,200 run, junior Maddison Molacek in the shot put, and their 4x800 and 4x200 relay teams.
