Paula Garcia Acebal, a freshman on the Bemidji State women's tennis team, was named the NSIC Player of the Week after going undefeated in singles and doubles matches against Minnesota Morris and Minnesota Crookston. She won both her singles matches and teamed up for doubles victories as well.

Against Minnesota Morris, Garcia Acebal defeated Allison Bruhn in singles 6-1, 6-1, and teamed up with Marla Davies to win the No. 1 doubles match 6-0. In the match against Minnesota Crookston, Garcia Acebal came back from a first-set loss to defeat Asli Oktay 4-6, 6-2, 10-8 in singles, and also picked up another doubles win with teammate Lauren Rutten.
