The Fields of Michigan, part of the Outdoor Collection by Under Canvas, has announced a major expansion and series of guest experience enhancements for the 2026 season. The investment will more than double the property's glamping capacity, introducing new upscale tent accommodations, expanded communal spaces, and elevated culinary and retail offerings.

Why it matters

The expansion reflects growing demand for immersive outdoor hospitality experiences that blend nature, modern comforts, and thoughtful design. As a premier glamping destination along the Lake Michigan shoreline, The Fields of Michigan's upgrades will allow it to host more guests while staying true to its mission of providing a relaxing escape that reconnects visitors with the natural world.

The details

The property is adding 26 new upscale tents, bringing the total to 45 tents and 9 cottages. All accommodations have been enhanced with mid-century modern furnishings, premium bedding, private decks, and ensuite bathrooms. The communal spaces, including The Willow lounge and The Outpost activity hub, have also been redesigned to foster social connection. The culinary program has been expanded with daily breakfast, dinner service, and a signature Supper Club experience, while the new retail shop offers outdoor essentials and grab-and-go provisions.

  • The Fields of Michigan is open for the 2026 season from April 30 through November 1.
