The 20th annual Gathering at the Rapids Powwow at GFL Memorial Gardens in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan saw a record-breaking 6,000+ attendees, participants and community members from across Turtle Island over the weekend. The powwow, led by Algoma University's Makwa Waakaa'igan, Anishinaabe Initiatives Division, and the Shingwauk Anishinaabe Students' Association, in partnership with the broader Anishinaabe community, generated over two truckloads of donations totaling more than 750 items collected in support of the Algoma University Student Union's Food Pantry.
