The details

Current duties for special constables include courthouse and prisoner security, electronic fingerprinting, serving legal documents, and other operational responsibilities. Constables are responsible for preserving the peace, preventing crime, assisting victims, and enforcing the law. Successful applicant constables are required to attend the Ontario Police College as part of the recruitment process. The police service is also hiring for various open civilian positions, including part-time civilian relief staff with duties such as transcription, relieving 911 Communicators, and general clerical assignments.
