During the first stop for speeding on U.S. 12 in Cass County, troopers recovered two firearms, including one that was reported stolen. A 21-year-old Edwardsburg man was arrested and charged with carrying a concealed weapon and receiving/concealing a stolen firearm. The second stop on I-94 in Van Buren County for a lane violation led to the discovery of 20 boxes containing 240 bottles of Promethazine Hydrochloride, a drug sometimes mixed with other substances and sold illegally. A 23-year-old Mishawaka man was arrested and charged with carrying a concealed weapon, and a passenger from South Bend was arrested and charged with receiving/concealing a stolen firearm.
