Marquette jumped out to a huge first-half lead, going on an 18-0 run to take a 41-16 advantage into halftime. The Golden Eagles shot 69% from the field in the opening period while holding Creighton to just 30.3% shooting. Marquette maintained a comfortable lead throughout the second half, despite a late Creighton rally, to win 86-62.

Royce Parham grabbed a game-high 7 rebounds for the Golden Eagles, while Chase Ross and Adrien Stevens also scored in double figures. Creighton struggled mightily, shooting just 12% from three-point range in the game.
