Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity has announced it will permanently close its South Haven ReStore location at the end of February 2026. The organization said the closure is intended to ensure responsible use of resources, with funding and support currently directed to the South Haven ReStore to be shifted toward expanding the Home Repair Program in South Haven and supporting future home construction projects in Van Buren County.

Why it matters

The closure of the South Haven ReStore will allow Lakeshore Habitat to better address the growing need for safe, affordable housing in the region by focusing resources on home repairs and future home builds. While the South Haven store will close, Habitat remains committed to serving the community through other programs.

The details

Lakeshore Habitat officials said the South Haven ReStore will remain open with normal hours until the closure on February 28, 2026, as current inventory is discounted and liquidated. The closure does not affect Lakeshore Habitat's Holland ReStore location or its work in Ottawa, Allegan, and Van Buren counties, and other nearby Habitat affiliates will continue operating as usual.
