A Grand Rapids dance team, K Elite Dance Academy, is preparing to perform at a NASCAR event in Kansas next month. The team, founded over 5 years ago, has previously performed at NASCAR events but this will be their biggest opportunity yet as they will take the field during the AdventHealth 400 Cup Series race on April 19.

Why it matters

This is a major national platform for the young dancers from Grand Rapids to showcase their talents. It will also help build stronger bonds within the team as they travel and spend time together outside of just dance practice.

The details

K Elite Dance Academy, a dance team founded in Grand Rapids over 5 years ago, was invited to perform at the NASCAR event in Kansas after impressing organizers with their previous performance at a NASCAR event in Brooklyn, Michigan last year. This time, the team will take the field during the race, allowing them to meet drivers and be introduced to the large crowd.

  • The team will travel to Kansas on April 17 to prepare for their performance on April 19 during the AdventHealth 400 Cup Series race.
  • Last year, the team performed in the fan zone at a NASCAR event in Brooklyn, Michigan.
