Lexus has introduced an all-electric version of its entry-level ES sedan for the 2026 model year. The new ES 350e and ES 500e models will join a hybrid ES 350h variant, offering buyers a choice between electric, hybrid, and traditional powertrains. The electric ES models feature a 74.7-kWh battery pack and EPA-estimated ranges of up to 307 miles.
Why it matters
The addition of an all-electric ES sedan marks Lexus' second fully-electric model, following the RZ SUV. As consumer demand for EVs continues to grow, Lexus is expanding its electrified lineup to cater to a wider range of luxury buyers seeking zero-emission vehicles.
The details
The 2026 Lexus ES 350e is powered by a single electric motor driving the front wheels, while the ES 500e features dual motors for all-wheel drive. Both models share the same 74.7-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The ES 350e has an EPA-estimated range of 307 miles. Pricing starts at $50,090 for the ES 350e Premium and goes up to $58,490 for the hybrid ES 350h Premium+ AWD.
- The all-electric Lexus ES models debuted a year ago at the Shanghai auto show.
- The hybrid ES 350h variant is due to launch soon after the EV models.

What they’re saying
“EVs may have hit a plateau in the US market, at least for the moment, but that hasn't stopped Lexus from making one more conversion.”
— Mark Vaughn, Automotive journalist
The takeaway
Lexus' introduction of an all-electric ES sedan demonstrates the brand's commitment to expanding its electrified lineup and catering to luxury buyers seeking zero-emission vehicles, even as the overall EV market in the U.S. may have temporarily plateaued.
