The Alpena Ice Festival, a beloved annual tradition, is set to take place this Saturday, February 18, 2026. The festival will feature a variety of activities and events throughout the day, including a snowhill, bonfire with s'mores, horse and wagon rides, and an afternoon/evening ice bar. Additionally, there will be a dedication ceremony for a new sculpture by the Thunder Bay Arts Council at Culligan Plaza, and the evening will culminate with the Fire and ICE fire on River Street.

The evening will conclude with the Fire and ICE fire on River Street at 6:30 p.m., sponsored by Wolverine Credit Union. Throughout the day, there will also be 'Chipping for Gift Cards' at Mangos, and student artwork turned sculptures will be on display at Mich-e-ke-wis Park and throughout the downtown area.
