Kylar Fenton played one preseason game with the Mariners after being in their training camp. Prior to that, he was a member of the Maine Nordiques of the North American Hockey League during the 2019-20 season and has spent parts of the last two seasons with the Peoria Rivermen of the Southern Professional Hockey League. His father Eric Fenton played at North Yarmouth Academy, for the University of Maine team that won the school's first NCAA championship in 1993, and 25 games for the Portland Pirates in the 1993-94 season as part of a professional career that lasted until 2001.
