17 Teams Compete in 7th Annual Acadian Pond Hockey Classic
Tournament raises money for youth hockey programs in Maine and New Brunswick

The 7th annual Acadian Pond Hockey Classic took place this weekend in St. Agatha, Maine, with 17 teams competing on the ice. Some teams traveled from out of state, including players from Boston and Florida, to participate in the tournament that raises money for youth hockey programs in Maine and New Brunswick.

The tournament featured a new 4-foot by 8-foot digital scoreboard this year, provided by Pattison Signs in Edmundston, New Brunswick. In addition to the hockey games, the event included music, food trucks, and a puck shot competition with a $250 cash prize sponsored by Acadia Federal Credit Union. The tournament committee chair, Dean Collins, said the ice conditions were fantastic and they expect a great turnout for the two-day event.
