The Lawrence High School girls basketball team captured its second state championship in four seasons, defeating Oceanside 52-41 in the Class B title game. Ashley Shores and Maddie Provost each scored 19 points for the Bulldogs, who overcame a 29-24 halftime deficit with a 10-0 run to start the second half. Lawrence went 10-for-12 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.

The Bulldogs' championship win comes after the team was knocked out in the regional semifinals as a No. 1 seed last year, making this year's title all the more meaningful. The victory also continues Lawrence's strong run of success, having now won two state titles in the past four seasons.

Ashley Shores and Maddie Provost each scored 19 points to lead Lawrence to the Class B championship. The Bulldogs trailed 29-24 at halftime but opened the second half with a 10-0 run to take the lead. Provost had six points in the third quarter to help Lawrence go up 37-35 heading to the fourth. The Bulldogs then went 10-for-12 from the free-throw line in the final period to secure the victory. Oceanside's Olivia Breen scored 17 points but the Mariners' shooting touch went cold after a strong regional tournament performance.
