BANGOR — Many adult children returned home after the holidays with concerns about their aging parents' wellbeing. On February 3, FYZICAL Therapy & Balance Centers and Cornerstone Caregiving are hosting a free community workshop in Bangor to help families recognize early warning signs, fall-proof homes, and understand when additional support may be needed to maintain independence.
Why it matters
As people age, subtle changes in mobility, behavior, and home safety can signal increased risk of falls or other serious incidents. This workshop aims to empower families to proactively address these issues before a crisis occurs, allowing older adults to remain independent for longer.
The details
The 'Protecting Aging Parents' workshop will cover topics like fall-proofing homes, recognizing early warning signs of declining health, determining when a loved one may need additional support, and steps families can take to improve safety. The event is part of FYZICAL's ongoing community education series and will also feature information from Cornerstone Caregiving on in-home care services.
- The free workshop will take place on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
- The event is hosted at FYZICAL Therapy & Balance Centers, located at 31 Bangor Mall Blvd. in Bangor.

What they’re saying
“Most families don't realize there are clear, early clues that someone is struggling at home. By the time a fall happens, those signs were usually present for quite a while. We want to help people recognize them early — when simple changes can prevent a crisis.”
