The Maine Department of Transportation will close the westbound lanes of Augusta's Memorial Bridge on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to conduct a routine inspection of the 1949 bridge that spans the Kennebec River. Eastbound traffic and pedestrians will still be able to cross the bridge during the inspection.

During Tuesday's closure, drivers coming from the western Memorial Circle will still be able to cross the bridge, but those coming from the eastern Cony Circle will need to take Bridge Street to cross the river. Pedestrians will still be able to use the northern side of the bridge.
