Artel Video, a brand of Patton, has announced the launch of the FiberLink ST2110-TD, a compact and rugged 'throw-down' gateway that allows broadcasters to seamlessly connect legacy SDI workflows with modern all-IP broadcast infrastructure. The ST2110-TD supports one or two channels with bidirectional operation, providing a strategic, scalable, and affordable path for broadcasters to adapt their existing SDI setups to the SMPTE ST 2110 standards.
Why it matters
The ST2110-TD addresses a key challenge facing broadcasters - the need to transition to IP-based workflows without having to completely overhaul their existing SDI infrastructure. This portable gateway enables instant ST2110 connectivity, allowing broadcasters to embrace the benefits of IP communication while preserving their investment in SDI equipment.
The details
The ST2110-TD is engineered to be compact, rugged, and highly portable, allowing engineers to deploy it easily in a variety of locations, such as studio floors, remote venues, or production trucks, without requiring a dedicated rack. It supports video, audio, and ancillary data according to the SMPTE ST 2110 standards, and includes features like PTP synchronization for precise stream alignment.
- The FiberLink ST2110-TD is now available for pre-order, with expected delivery in May 2026.
