Plamondon Hospitality Partners has broken ground on the Marriott Downtown Frederick, a full-service hotel and conference center located along Carroll Creek Linear Park in downtown Frederick, Maryland. The $23 million project is being developed through a public-private partnership and is expected to be completed by 2027.

Why it matters

The new Marriott hotel represents a significant investment in Frederick's downtown area, which has long been viewed as a development opportunity. The project is expected to drive economic growth, create new jobs, and provide additional meeting and event space to serve both group and transient demand in the city.

The details

The 204-room Marriott hotel will feature over 21,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space. Construction and design partners include DAVIS Construction, FILLAT+ Architecture, Looney & Associates, and PDSI. Atlas Restaurant Group is collaborating on the hotel's food and beverage concepts. Public funding represents approximately 26% of the project's total cost, including a $23 million investment from the State of Maryland and contributions from Frederick County and the City of Frederick.
