Developers in College Park, Maryland have refurbished a 159,000-square-foot former University Club building from 1965, transforming it into a new apartment complex called The Arbor. The project added features like in-unit washers and dryers, a yoga studio, fitness center, and sauna, while also utilizing the five-acre outdoor space for amenities like fire pits, grilling stations, a volleyball court, and hammock area. By redeveloping the existing structure instead of demolishing it, the developers estimate they saved over 4,000 metric tons of carbon emissions, equivalent to taking 870 cars off the road for a year.
