Atlas Restaurant Group has opened its new headquarters in Baltimore's Fells Point neighborhood, occupying two floors of the historic E.J. Codd Co. building. The 15,000-square-foot space features a blend of modern design and nods to the company's past, including charred beams from a previous fire, a sign from H&S Bakery (owned by CEO Alex Smith's grandfather), and repurposed elements from the group's former restaurants Pazo and Bar Vasquez.
Why it matters
The new headquarters represents Atlas Restaurant Group's continued growth and investment in Baltimore, where the company was founded. The space reflects the group's ambition to push the business forward while honoring its local roots and history.
The details
The two-floor headquarters includes modern offices, conference rooms, and event spaces. Remnants of the building's past tenants can be found throughout, such as a private dining room from the former Pazo restaurant that is now an Atlas conference room, and artwork from the short-lived Bar Vasquez. The space also features a taxidermied alligator killed by CEO Alex Smith, dubbed 'Atlas the Alligator'.
