Report finds region has high share of licensed practical nurses and registered nurses

A new report from the Center for Health Information and Analysis (CHIA) shows that Southern Worcester County in Massachusetts has one of the most robust nursing workforces in the state. The region has the largest share of licensed practical nurses (LPNs) at 17.06% and the third-largest share of registered nurses (RNs) at 8.46%.

RN vacancy rates were lower at 9.2%, but highest in nursing homes at 25.9%. Southern Worcester County RNs were the third-highest paid in the state, averaging $123,405 annually.
