Joan Frances (Mendes) Bobrowiecki, a 90-year-old resident of New Bedford, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Bobrowiecki was a longtime teacher in the Dartmouth Public Schools and an active volunteer in her community, known for her kindness, love of family, and passion for reading, gardening, and Hallmark movies.

Bobrowiecki was born in New Bedford to Fernando C. Mendes Jr. and Frances (Rebello) Mendes. She met her husband, Mike Bobrowiecki, at the Lincoln Park Ballroom, and they were married for 36 years. While raising four children, Bobrowiecki earned a Bachelor of Science in Education, a Master of Education, and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Early Childhood Education, going on to teach in the Dartmouth Public Schools for 32 years. In retirement, she volunteered with the St. Luke's Hospital Auxiliary, Hospice Care for SouthCoast Hospitals, and the Missionaries of Charity.

Bobrowiecki passed away on the evening of March 1, 2026, at the age of 90.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at 11 AM.
