Royale and PWHL Launch "Her Signature Moment" to Empower Next Generation

Initiative flips autograph experience, allowing young fans to sign jerseys of PWHL stars

Published on Mar. 9, 2026

Royale, a founding partner of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) and supporter of the PWHL Mentorship Program, is launching "Her Signature Moment" - an initiative where young fans can sign the jerseys of PWHL players instead of the traditional autograph experience. Each signature represents a pledge from the next generation to keep playing and pursuing their hockey dreams. Royale will also donate $25 CAD to the PWHL Mentorship Program for the first 1,000 signatures received.

Why it matters

The initiative aims to help reverse the trend of one in three girls dropping out of sports early, by empowering young players and fans to see themselves as the future stars of the PWHL. It also provides vital funding to the PWHL Mentorship Program to support participation and development of the next generation of women's hockey talent.

The details

As part of "Her Signature Moment", PWHL star Emma Maltais is calling on young players and fans to sign her jersey, along with the jerseys of other PWHL teams. Each signature represents a powerful promise and commitment from the next generation to fuel their dreams of becoming the next PWHL stars. Royale will donate $25 CAD (up to $25,000) to the PWHL Mentorship Program for the first 1,000 signatures received, and fans will also have the option to further support the program through donations.

  • The "Her Signature Moment" initiative launched on March 9, 2026.

What they’re saying

“Growing up, I loved getting autographs from my favourite players. With Her Signature Moment, when a young girl signs my jersey, or another player's, it's a small but meaningful moment. It's a reminder that she belongs in the game and that her path in hockey is her own. Seeing young players feel that confidence is really special, and it says a lot about where the game is headed.”

— Emma Maltais, Toronto Sceptres forward and mentor in the PWHL Mentorship Program

“Royale is honoured to stand with the PWHL and inspire young girls to see themselves in this game. Her Signature Moment is our commitment to support the next generation and building a stronger future for women's hockey.”

— Jennifer Lo, Vice President, Marketing for Royale
