Aquila Catamarans, a leading manufacturer of power catamarans, has introduced its first sailing catamaran, the Aquila 50 Sail. The new model was developed in partnership with Aquila's longtime design collaborators J&J Design, with the goal of maximizing space, functionality, cruising comfort, and quality. The 50 Sail features Aquila's signature design elements, including bridge-to-bow stairs for easy access, a spacious and bright salon and galley, and a choice of four, five, or six cabin configurations below deck.

Why it matters

The launch of the Aquila 50 Sail marks an exciting new chapter for the company, as it expands its product line beyond power catamarans and into the sailing catamaran market. This move allows Aquila to cater to a wider range of boating enthusiasts and further solidifies its position as a global boat manufacturer.

The details

The Aquila 50 Sail was developed with decades of hands-on sailing knowledge and industry experience from Aquila's team, including co-founder Lex Raas and his sons Jean Raas (Chief Product Officer & CEO of Aquila USA) and Alain Raas (Global Brand Director). The catamaran features panoramic windows in the salon and galley, as well as a choice of four, five, or six cabin configurations with ensuite heads and walk-in showers. The owner's cabin is particularly spacious, with a queen-sized bed, generous storage, and a washer/dryer utility area. Propulsion options include either diesel engines or Aquila's Hybrid Ocean Drive™ system, which can provide silent electric propulsion or diesel power as needed.

  • The Aquila 50 Sail was introduced at the recent Miami Boat Show.
