The first playable demo for the upcoming asymmetrical stealth horror game 'Halloween' will debut at PAX East in Boston from March 26-29, 2026. Developer IllFonic and partners will also host a panel with the original film's director John Carpenter and attempt a Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people dressed as Michael Myers.
Why it matters
The 'Halloween' game aims to faithfully recreate the eerie tone and atmosphere of the classic 1978 slasher film, allowing fans to step into the iconic roles of both Michael Myers and his terrified victims. The PAX East demo and world record attempt will build anticipation for the game's launch later in 2026.
The details
The PAX East demo will feature the Haddonfield Heights map, a Midwestern neighborhood filled with homes, yards, and the abandoned Myers house. Players will take on the 1v4 multiplayer experience, with one as Michael Myers stalking four survivors. On March 28, IllFonic will host a panel with the original film's director John Carpenter, Compass Pictures' Malek Akkad, and the game's developers to discuss bringing the 'Halloween' world to life. Later that day, fans will attempt the Guinness World Record for largest gathering of Michael Myers cosplayers.
