Tigo Energy, a provider of intelligent solar and energy software solutions, has announced the availability of the enhanced Tigo GO Battery, which includes performance improvements and key new features. The GO Battery now qualifies for participation in select Virtual Power Plant (VPP) programs and has been added to the EnergyHub and Uplight distributed energy resource management (DERMS) platforms. The battery is designed for flexibility and longevity, with a modular and scalable design, Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) chemistry, and an industry-leading 11-year warranty.

Why it matters

The Tigo GO Battery upgrades, including VPP eligibility, make it an attractive option for homeowners looking to invest in home energy storage. VPP programs allow homeowners to earn revenue by allowing utilities to access their stored energy during peak demand periods, improving grid reliability. The battery's faster installation time and smaller footprint also make it an appealing choice for solar installers.

The details

The Tigo GO Battery is available in 5kWh increments and can be expanded up to 30kWh. Its modular, plug-and-play design helps reduce installation time by up to 50%. The battery features a rugged NEMA 4X enclosure and a wide operating temperature range of -10°C to +50°C, providing year-round durability. Tigo has also integrated the GO Battery with the EnergyHub and Uplight DERMS platforms, enabling seamless participation in VPP programs.
