Demon, Golden Hawk and St. James Shooters Shine at Cedar Rapids Prairie Archery Meet

Mid-Prairie, Washington, and St. James archery teams competed at the Cedar Rapids Prairie archery shoot last week, with several standout individual and team performances. The high school Golden Hawks placed eighth out of 11 teams in the block competition, while the middle school Hawks were eighth out of 13 teams. The Demon high school and middle school teams also had strong showings, led by Hannah Lipski and Logan Hotchkiss. For St. James, Bennett Vittetoe and Maxton DeLong were the top performers in the block and 3D competitions.

In the high school block competition, the Golden Hawks were led by Elijah Statler, who finished ninth for the boys with a 285 and 17 tens. Ava Miller was the runner-up in the girls bullseye event with a 286 and 17 tens. In the 3D competition, Statler was the boys runner-up with a 291 and 21 tens, while Miller placed eighth for the girls with a 279 and 13 tens. For the Demons, Hannah Lipski had a strong showing, placing 14th in the girls block with a 278 and 14 tens, and third in the girls 3D event with a 283 and 17 tens. Zach Hotchkiss also contributed for the Demons. At the middle school level, the Hawks' Bryce Miller led the way for the boys in both block (12th, 275, 14 tens) and 3D (7th, 273, 11 tens). Lara Brenneman was 15th for the girls in block with a 270 and 12 tens. For the Demons, Logan Hotchkiss had a standout performance in block, placing 10th with a 278 and 13 tens.
