The Arts and Humanities Council of Southwest Louisiana (AHCSWLA) announced changes to its annual Live at the Lakefront event in Lake Charles. Instead of being a multi-week event, Live at the Lakefront will now be a one-day festival on April 11, 2026, and the location will move from the Lake Charles Event Center amphitheater to the lawn between Crying Eagle Lakefront and Port Wonder.

Why it matters

Live at the Lakefront is a popular annual music festival in the Lake Charles area, drawing large crowds to enjoy live performances. The changes to make it a one-day event and move it to a new location along the lakefront aim to strengthen the overall experience for attendees.

The details

The AHCSWLA, which organizes Live at the Lakefront, said the changes will allow them to invest more into the artists and offer a free evening of entertainment for the community.
