The Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office (LPSO) has signed a contract with Faith House of Acadiana, a domestic violence nonprofit, to allow the organization to occupy and operate out of an LPSO-owned office space in downtown Lafayette. This partnership is intended to improve coordination between law enforcement and service providers, helping survivors access shelter, advocacy, and support more quickly and safely.

Why it matters

The collaboration reinforces a coordinated, survivor-centered response to domestic violence by combining law enforcement resources with comprehensive support services from Faith House. This approach aims to reduce repeat incidents of violence by connecting survivors with resources that promote long-term safety and stability.

The details

Through the new arrangement, Faith House will be able to operate out of a secure and accessible location provided by the Sheriff's Office. This will improve the organization's capacity to serve survivors while strengthening the overall justice system response by helping survivors navigate recovery with dignity, stability, and long-term support.
