The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced that the I-20 eastbound off-ramp to LA 3 (Benton Road) in Bossier City will be closed several days this week to allow for permanent roadway striping operations. Eastbound motorists on I-20 may utilize the Hamilton Road, Old Minden Road or Airline Drive exits during the closures.
Why it matters
This is part of the final stages of a major reconstruction project on I-20 in Bossier City that has been ongoing since 2023. The ramp closures will cause temporary disruptions for drivers, but are necessary to complete the project and improve the roadway.
The details
The I-20 eastbound exit ramp to Benton Road will be closed from 7:00 am to 4:30 pm on Wednesday, February 18, Thursday, February 19, and Friday, February 20, 2026 to allow for the striping work. Commercial motor vehicles are still prohibited in the work zone due to narrow lane widths, and must use the I-220 detour.

- The ramp closures are scheduled for Wednesday, February 18, Thursday, February 19, and Friday, February 20, 2026 from 7:00 am to 4:30 pm each day.
