The Cal women's gymnastics team saw its season come to an end after finishing fourth at the NCAA West Regional finals in Tempe, Arizona on Saturday. No. 3 seed Florida won the regional, while No. 6 Georgia also advanced to the NCAA Championships.
Why it matters
Cal was making its 13th consecutive trip to the NCAA regionals, but was unable to finish in the top two and qualify for nationals. The Bears were led by first-year head coach Geralen Stack-Eaton.

Cal posted a team score of 196.975, finishing behind No. 3 Florida (198.050), No. 6 Georgia (197.750), and No. 11 Michigan State (197.000). Freshman Tonya Paulsson and junior Annalise Newman-Achee earned All-America honors for the Bears during the regular season, but were unable to lead the team to a nationals berth.
