The Lyon County Lady Lyons opened their preseason softball schedule with a road scrimmage against Paducah Tilghman on Saturday. Despite battling back from an early 2-0 deficit to take a 3-2 lead, the Lady Lyons were unable to hold on as Paducah Tilghman scored five runs in the bottom of the 7th inning to win the scrimmage 7-3.
Why it matters
This early season scrimmage provided an opportunity for the Lyon County softball team to evaluate their strengths and weaknesses ahead of the regular season. While the loss was disappointing, it gives the coaching staff valuable insight to help prepare the team for upcoming games.

Lyon County junior Olivia Moore had a standout performance, going 3-for-3 at the plate with a home run, double, and an RBI. Courtney Collins, Jaylen Tackett, and Ava Prow each added one hit for the Lady Lyons. Prow started in the circle, pitching five innings and allowing two runs on five hits with six strikeouts and no walks.
