Another vehicle, which was traveling west on KY-80, attempted to turn left onto Perry Circle Road and turned into the trooper's path. The driver and passenger in the vehicle were pronounced deceased at the scene, while the trooper suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries and was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Hospital.
