Toyota has unveiled the latest fifth-generation Highlander SUV, which will be the brand's first three-row battery-electric vehicle offered in the US market. The new Highlander BEV is built on a modified TNGA-K platform and will be assembled at Toyota's plant in Georgetown, Kentucky, with batteries produced at the company's new facility in Liberty, North Carolina. The SUV will be offered in two trim levels - XLE and Limited - with single-motor FWD and dual-motor AWD powertrains. The FWD model produces 221 hp and 268 Nm, while the AWD version delivers 338 hp and 438 Nm. Battery sizes are 76.96 kWh and 95.82 kWh, with estimated ranges up to 512 km. Charging is supported at up to 11 kW AC and an unspecified DC rate, with 10-80% recharge in around 30 minutes.
