Lady Maroons Take 8th at Caldwell County Invitational

The Madisonville-North Hopkins Lady Maroons track and field team opened their 2026 season with an 8th place finish at the Caldwell County 1st Flight Invitational on Saturday. Katie Gillette led the way with a 2nd place finish in the 1,600-meter run and a 4th place finish in the 800-meter run. Other top performers included Keeley Peyton in the discus and shot put, and Kristina Western in the high jump.

At the Caldwell County meet, Madisonville-North Hopkins finished 8th out of the competing teams. Katie Gillette had the team’s top individual finishes, taking 2nd in the 1,600-meter run and 4th in the 800-meter run. In the sprints, Makinzy Berry-Franklin, Israel Gordon, and Aletheia Golightly all placed in the top 15 of their events. In the field events, Keeley Peyton placed 6th in the discus and 8th in the shot put, while Kristina Western took 3rd in the high jump.
