New Costco Store Set to Open in Lawrence Later This Year

Lawrence, Kansas will be getting a new Costco Wholesale store that is expected to open later this year. The 166,000-square-foot store will be located within the Mercato development at the northeast corner of 6th Street and Highway 10, just south of Rock Chalk Park.
Why it matters

The details
Costco submitted a site plan to the city of Lawrence in October. The new store will be located on 22.6 acres and include Costco's typical membership-based warehouse model along with an on-site gas station with 24 pumps, tire center, bakery, and more. Construction has already started on the project.
