Leto Tech PBC, an Indiana startup and public benefit corporation, has launched a software system that enables professionals at various organizations to more efficiently connect clients with community resources. The platform allows users to create a customized digital binder that can be searched in multiple ways, and users can share resource referrals with clients in a professional document or secure text.
Why it matters
Access to community resources can have a significant impact on a person's health, as 80% of health is driven by social determinants like income, shelter, food, and transportation. This software aims to improve care coordination and help organizations support people in need by streamlining the process of connecting clients with the right local resources.
The details
Leto's software was initially developed for a federal HRSA competition in 2023, where it placed second out of 134 competitors. After hundreds of hours of conversations with caseworkers and validation by healthcare organizations in central Indiana, the software was further developed with the support of the Regenstrief Center. In January 2025, Nicole Adams partnered with Mike Shepard to start Leto with the mission to improve healthcare through better resource and relationship management. The software can function as a stand-alone web application or be embedded into electronic health records or student information systems.
