Alan Louis Mattingly, a 67-year-old resident of Loogootee, Indiana, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026 at Poplar Care Strategies in Loogootee. Born in Washington, Indiana in 1958, Mattingly was a lifelong member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and dedicated 20 years of his life working as a coal miner, known for his exceptional bulldozing skills. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed coon trapping, hunting, gardening, and farming, but above all, cherished time spent with his large family.
