Fifth graders from across Knox County, Indiana gathered at the Vincennes University P.E. Complex for the annual Knox County Ag Day, an educational event designed to teach students about agriculture and related topics. Students rotated through a series of stations led by local agencies and organizations, covering areas such as weather systems, water safety, food safety, powerline safety, and how agricultural products move from farms to consumers.
Why it matters
The event helps connect young people to the important role agriculture plays in everyday life and the local community, ensuring they understand where their food and other products come from and the significance of the agriculture industry.
The details
The presentations and activities at Knox County Ag Day are aimed at providing a hands-on learning experience for the fifth grade students, helping them make important connections between the food and products they use daily and the agricultural processes behind them.
