The Bedford Hiking Club is organizing a historic walking event in Vincennes, Indiana on March 14, 2026 to celebrate America's 250th anniversary. The Volkswalk will feature 11-kilometer (6.8-mile) and 5-kilometer (3.2-mile) routes showcasing landmarks connected to George Rogers Clark and Abraham Lincoln.

The details
The non-competitive walk will begin with check-in from 9 a.m. to noon behind the Indiana Historic Sites at 1 Harrison Street. Walkers can choose between the longer 11-kilometer route or the shorter 5-kilometer option, both of which will highlight historic sites throughout Vincennes. The event is open to the public for $4 per adult, and dogs on leashes are welcome, though some indoor stops may not allow pets. Participants are encouraged to bring water and wear comfortable shoes.
